  Its not only here at Kirk Balk School that we are providing our support and technical knowledge but we also go out and work on site in the primary schools.  To do this we have a set of 10 Laptop computer and a projector which we use to supplement the primary schools own equipment allowing more children access to ICT.

Prospective parents of Birdwell are impressed

On a Tuesday afternoon we set up in the dining hall of Birdwell School and hold two teaching sessions.  The first for year 6 pupils with Miss Stringer and the second is for Miss Cousins year 3 children.  Whilst on a Thursday afternoon we can be found out at the Gables School in Wombwell working with the staff and children of Hoyland Market Street School.

Kirk Balk is committed to working with our partner primary schools not only to meet the demands of the QCA and ICT but also in other subject areas of Maths and Science.  We are also currently working on the technicalities of web conferencing that will allow staff here at Kirk Balk to deliver lessons directly into the primary classroom. We are also working with Elmhirst to help with the establishment of good practice in working with primary schools and for developing a web presence for more schools.
